Bookkeeping Experience - 18 years | CPA Qualified Accountant - 10 years
I started my career in sales working for StegbarBuilding Products on building sites selling windows and showerscreens for 10 years.
Then love found me, it was time for a career change. Bartending, bookkeeping and farming is where I started. I soon realised I had a real thirst for bookkeeping and everything involved. I enjoyed the puzzle and rejoiced when a client started to see the benefit of a good set of books and understood what value accurate data could give them. They were making informed business decisions, taking the guesswork out of the equation.
Many years on and I went back to Uni to gain my Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) Degree. I worked for a large tax accounting firm in my area for a few years and then went on to start my own business.
During this time I also worked for local government as their Finance / Administration Officer. I held the position of General Manager for three years.
I really enjoy what I do and am excited with all the new technology coming into the marketplace. Automation is a game changer that allows bookkeepers to diversify and concentrate on helping people solve problems they face in their business. Our work space is always evolving, it's a never ending path of learning and outcomes. I love it.
Favourite food - anything I don’t have to cook. I am very partial to a hamburger though.
Favourite tv shows – I love a good murder mystery
I started working in 1984 with Douglas Wastle and Co, which eventually became Stubbs Wallace & Partners, as a bookkeeper, where I studied bookkeeping. I continued working here until 1994. My work involved client bookkeeping, maintaining debtors for outside businesses, processing payroll for clients, reconciling and processing payment summaries and preparing financials to trial balance stage for the Accountants. I had an excellent rapport with clients and staff.
After leaving Stubbs Wallace, I began work as a family day carer which I continued for 5 years. I loved working with children and kept a hand in book keeping being Treasurer of various community organisations.
In 2000 with the introduction of GST I returned to work at Stubbs Wallace as a bookkeeper where I remained until 2012. In 2013 I moved to Sydney for a year before moving to Wagga Wagga where I worked for a very successful Accounting firm - Twomeys, as a bookkeeper. My work here involved completing Company, Partnership, Individual and Trust financial statements and tax returns.
I have a Certificate in Computerised accounting and payroll and am Xero certified. When not working I enjoy walking my dog and spending time with my family.

I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours at the University of Melbourne in 2005. I have since completed a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting in 2018, and am currently undertaking a Diploma in Payroll Services through Monarch Institute.
I have over 15 years experience in bookkeeping ranging from invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll services, and monthly reporting, to completing and filing Business Activity Statements, and end of financial year reports.
I am an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, and am now a certified BAS agent with the Tax Practiioners Board. I am a certified Xero, Hubdoc and Figured adviser, and have experience in many apps and add-ons including Google Suite, Practice Manager, Deputy, Hubdoc, Figured, DocuSign, Tookan, Stripe, Zapier, and Trello.
I am tech savvy, progressive and keep up to date with evolving cloud technology. I also have an eye for detail, a passion for problem solving, and a keen interest in bookkeeping in general.
When I am not at my computer you can find me spending time with my husband and our four children and attending various sporting events they are involved with. I am an active member of my community and do quite a bit of volunteer work. I like to keep my mind active.
